Frequently Asked Questions

What You Should Know Before You Book

Getting Started

How does it work?

Once you reach out, we’ll schedule a complimentary meet & greet. This relaxed, no-pressure visit gives us a chance to meet your pets, learn their routines, and answer any questions. It also helps your pets feel more comfortable with us before services begin.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes! Carolina Pet Squad is fully insured and bonded. This means you, your pets, and your home are protected—giving you total peace of mind while you're away.

Services & Pets

What types of pets do you care for?

We care for a wide variety of pets—including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, small animals, and even more exotic or non-traditional companions. If you’re unsure whether we can accommodate your pet, just reach out—we’re happy to talk it through.

Do you offer overnight stays?

Yes! We offer overnight stays, drop-in visits, and dog walking services. House sitting (without pets) is also available if you're taking your animals with you. Custom care packages may be available based on your needs and our availability.

Do you offer pet sitting for weddings or special events?

Yes, we do! If you’re including your pet in your wedding or special event but want to fully enjoy the moment without worry, we can help. We’ll handle everything from transportation and on-site care to potty breaks, water, and downtime—so your pet is happy, calm, and looked after while you focus on celebrating. Reach out to discuss the details—we’ll create a custom plan to suit your schedule and vision.

How long is a visit?

We offer flexible visit lengths, including 30 or 60-minute options, depending on your pet’s needs. Homes with multiple pets or animals with special care requirements may benefit from longer visits. We’ll help you choose the right option during our meet & greet.

How many times a day should my pet be visited during a vacation?

That depends on your pet’s age, health, species, and routine. Most indoor dogs require at least three visits per day—morning, afternoon, and evening—for feeding, potty breaks, and companionship. For cats, most clients choose one to two visits per day. We'll work with you to determine the best schedule for your animals.

Can you care for pets with special needs or medications?

Yes! We’re experienced with senior pets, animals with chronic conditions, and those that require medication, mobility support, or extra TLC. Let us know the details at the meet & greet, and we’ll tailor a care plan that works for everyone.

Why hire a professional pet sitter instead of asking a neighbor or friend?

While friends and neighbors mean well, professional pet sitters offer reliability, training, and accountability. We're insured and bonded, trained to notice behavioral or health changes, and experienced in managing routines that reduce your pet’s stress. You’ll also receive updates with every visit—so you’re never left wondering how things are going at home.

Scheduling & Payment

How do I pay?

We accept credit/debit cards, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, checks, and cash. Payment is due before or on the first day of service. A deposit may be required to secure recurring, holiday and/or peak-season bookings.

What’s your cancellation policy?

We do our best to be flexible! We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Do you offer holiday services?

Yes! We’re available for most holidays, but holiday rates may apply for visits on or around major holiday dates. Contact us to confirm availability and pricing for specific dates.
